Manuscrift types
Manuscript Types
The Journal of Fish Nutrition accepts two manuscript types: original research articles and review articles. All submissions must directly address the journal’s aims and scope, including fish nutrition, feed ingredients and formulation, natural food and live feeds, and feeding management.
1. Original Research Articles
Original research articles report research findings that have not previously been published as a journal article. Studies must have clear objectives, reproducible methods, analyses appropriate to the study design, and conclusions supported by the data.
Submissions may report laboratory experiments, field studies, evaluations of feed ingredients or feeding technologies, or other research that contributes scientific knowledge to aquaculture nutrition and feeding.
2. Review Articles
Review articles provide a critical synthesis and evaluation of the literature on a topic relevant to the journal’s scope. Manuscripts must develop an integrated understanding, identify knowledge gaps, and discuss implications or future research directions. A sequential summary of previous studies without critical analysis is insufficient.
Reviews may adopt narrative or systematic approaches. Authors must describe literature searching, selection, and synthesis proportionately to the approach used. Manuscripts identified as systematic reviews must report transparent and reproducible search and selection methods. Where a meta-analysis is conducted, authors must describe data extraction, effect measures, statistical models, and assessment of heterogeneity.
