The Community Service Program (KKN-PMD) of the University of Mataram was implemented in Sintung Village, Pringgarata District, Central Lombok, with a focus on the implementation of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) as a strategy to improve sustainable food security. This activity emphasized innovation through the creation of environmentally friendly planting media and the distribution of chili seeds to the community. The main objective of the program was to increase awareness and knowledge of village residents regarding adaptive agricultural practices to climate change, while simultaneously encouraging independence in the management of local agricultural resources. The implementation method consisted of two main stages: (1) socialization of the CSA concept through counseling and interactive discussions with expert speakers, farmer groups, and village officials; (2) implementation of the creation of planting media based on natural materials such as livestock manure, rice husks, and EM4 solution, which were fermented to produce beneficial microorganisms. The planting media was then used to plant chili seeds which were distributed to residents as the initial step in utilizing yard land. The results of the activity showed an increase in community understanding regarding the importance of climate smart agriculture in facing the challenges of climate change, especially in the aspect of village food sustainability. Furthermore, the practice of creating growing media has been proven to encourage active community participation, reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers, and strengthen local capacity to maintain agricultural productivity. Thus, the University of Mataram Community Service Program (KKN-PMD) program not only contributes to village food security but also serves as a model for CSA implementation that can be replicated in other rural areas.
