Abstrak

Introduction: Pemphigoid gestationis (PG) is a vesiculobullous eruption with intense pruritus in mid- to late pregnancy and immediately after delivery. The incidence of PG is approximately 1 in 60,000 pregnancies, primarily affecting multiparous women in the second or third trimester.

Case: A 19-year-old woman with a history of G1P0A0H0 pregnancy and 19-20 weeks' gestation complained of the appearance of  blisters that began as reddish patches on the abdomen accompanied by itching. The blisters contained clear fluid. Dermatological examination of the abdomen revealed efflorescence in the form of multiple erythematous macules and patches topped with multiple vesicles. The patient was given systemic treatment with intraoral methylprednisolone and topical desoximetasone 0.25% + sodium fusidate 2% cream. On day 13, the patient showed clinical improvement, characterized by a reduction in symptoms and changes in the lesions.

Conclusion: The clinical diagnosis of PG is based on anamnesis and physical examination as well as the response to improvement after receiving therapy.
